\u2018American Horror Story: Coven\u2019 a witch-off of Salem vs. Voo doo?
Further details have surfaced around the new season of American Horror Story: Coven that is set to air this October.  "American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy not only revealed that "Coven" will be lighter and more comedic than the preceding seasons, but also said Coven will be a massive witch-off of Salem vs. voodoo, reported Vulture.com Aug. 5, 2013.
American Horror Story: Coven involves witches of Salem that escaped early avoiding the witch trials and find themselves in New Orleans, where they eventually reside.  It was explained that every generation has a great witch who has the most powers out of all, called the Supreme.  Coven which is reported to begin filming later this summer in New Orleans, is also set to take place in both the present day and the 1830s.
American Horror Story has pulled out the big guns when casting the leading roles.  The Supreme witch, as discussed previously,The North Face Cyber Monday Shopping Madness Women Summit Series Triclimate Jacket Yel, will be played by the one and only Jessica Lange.  As for Marie Laveau, no other than Angela Bassett has been cast to portray "the voodoo queen of New Orleans.  And Kathy Bates is set to play the real-life New Orleans socialite serial killer Marie Delphine LaLaurie, a.k.a. Madame LaLaurie which should be a real hoot.  LaLaurie and her third husband were known for their involvement in torturing and killing several of their slaves in New Orleans in the 1830s, and were only discovered when firefighters had to break down the door that subsequently led them to find the horrendous murder chamber.
